*** 988 option 1 *** This is the number to call if a veteran is considering suicide. You can also text “Hello” to 741741 or online chat at the Veterans Crisis Line. Please make a note of it. We cannot afford to allow our service men and women to go by the wayside, never leave a comrade behind!
Additionally, homelessness is an epidemic and the VA is making strides to combat veteran homelessness. If you encounter a homeless veteran here is the number to call for assistance: 877-424-3838
***** POST AND AUX MEETING DATE CHANGE ****
The May Post and Auxiliary meeting for Sat, May 3rd has been changed to Sat, May 10th. The District DCC is being held on the 3rd and we need to have as many of our officers at the DCC as possible.
**** IMPORTANT VA UPDATE ****
For those using the VA for their health care and/or are receiving VA compensation, you MUST login to My Healthy Vet regularly in order to maintain an active account. VA is planning an update to the system and if you have not logged in you may be removed from the system. If you are removed your VA health care and/or your VA compensation may be affected. It is recommended that you login monthly in order to maintain an active account and avoid any unnecessary disruptions of your health care and/or compensation. If you have never logged in this web address will provide you with a means to register.

*** DUES REMINDER ***
National raised the dues by $5 last year. This forced the Post to raise its dues from $45 to $50 per year (this increase does not affect PUFL). Post dues is now $50 per year. Please make a note of it when paying your dues.
Convention is just around the corner and that means dues will be due after the convention. Please pay your dues as soon as possible to help the Post reach its goals as quickly as possible. When you’re paying your dues please pay it to the Post and avoid paying online if possible. When it is paid online the post may not find out for 6 to 8 weeks and that will delay you receiving your membership card. Cmdr Pedro will more than likely be doing his Buddy Checks again this year. Last year these were critical in gaining our 100% status. If you have the time to assist, he would appreciate the help.

Members that participate in an event for the Post 255 Families are encouraged to use the volunteer form link below to report their time, money and miles to the post. This greatly assists the Commander’s with the year-end report filing to the Department, thank you. If you use the paper form submit it to the Commander as soon as possible.
